Fremont CA, September 15, 2010 - Foxit Corporation, a leading provider of solutions for reading, editing, creating, organizing, securing PDF documents, announces that its widely popular Foxit PDF Reader is not susceptible to the recently discovered zero day PDF exploit.
This past April, Foxit initiated a Rapid Security Response Team with the sole focus of examining and resolving any attacks on the PDF technology. The Rapid Security Response team has thoroughly tested the recent zero day exploit and has confirmed that the Foxit Reader is not at risk. The zero day exploit attacks a specific component which uses CoolType font within Adobe Reader. Foxit Reader does not utilize this component and all tests have confirmed that Foxit Reader is safe.
"Foxit is committed to reacting quickly to any threat that targets PDF documents. We have a large user base that depends on the security and reliability of our Reader and we continue to reassure our Reader base that they are using the best PDF platform on the market." said Alex Alexander, AVP, Corporate Marketing for Foxit Corporation, "As we gain more and more enterprise and government clients, we must continue to communicate the Foxit value proposition of a secure platform that is affordable, fast and feature rich."
