PDF is designed to render content that is inalterable, preserving its look and feel across platforms for posterity. But what if you need to add a paragraph, delete a sentence or even change text on a PDF page? It’s far more easier using PDF software—that is, when you’re using the right kind of PDF software. You need a PDF Editor like PhantomPDF.
Foxit PhantomPDF is a full-fledged text editor
More than just enabling you to view a PDF, Foxit PhantomPDF enables you to annotate text, add notes, highlight, underline, strikeout text and more, then save the changes.
Here’s how to take PDF editing to the next level using Foxit PhantomPDF:
- Open the document.
- Click on the ‘Edit Text’ button near the top-center of the screen.
- To change text, simply locate it and click to highlight it, then type your new text.
- To delete it, just select text and then hit backspace. Or type the new text directly over the highlighted text.
That’s it. But that’s not all the text editing you can do with PhantomPDF.
Get text flowing exactly where you want
To ensure text flows properly between pages and paragraphs, use the Link & Join Text feature. It lets you link multiple text blocks together or join separate text blocks into a single paragraph within your document. You can also divide a selected block of text into separate parts.
All of which is useful when you need to add or remove text or resize a content block.
Change the font or change how it looks
To change the way text appears in your PDF file, simply select the text you want to alter, then use the EDIT tab to select a different font type, adjust size, change the margins of a content block and modify the paragraph alignment and spacing.
You can change the alignment of the text, change its size, make it bold or even italicize it. Once you’re done making your alterations, you can even run a spell check on your content to ensure you didn’t create any typos.
As you can see, making basic text changes in Foxit PhantomPDF is straightforward and easy. And if you’re in need of next-level PDF editing capabilities, Foxit PhantomPDF can take you there, too.
You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this
topic to be actually something that I think I would never understand.
It seems too complex and extremely broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
I want to change all the added text in a PDF file so that it is the same. No idea how.
Richard, when you want to change the font style, size, color, etc. in Foxit PDF Editor please click on “Edit Text”. Then select the text you want to edit. In the panel on the right-hand-side you will find the font and paragraph options.
“To change text, simply locate it and click to highlight it, then type your new text.”
This does not work. I have a form with highlighted boxes into which I have previously entered texted. There does not seem to be any way to select that text. If I click on it, and try to delete it, it deletes the text in the form, not the text I filled out.
Hi Andrew, is the document maybe protected which would mean you can’t edit the document? For further assistance please submit a support ticket via https://www.foxit.com/support/ticket.html
