Viewing information about PDF


PDFTV allows you to view the General Properties about the PDF and the embeded font contained in each PDF file.

To view the general properties of PDF

Do the following:

  • Choose File > Properties from the Menu bar, and you should see a pop-up dialog box as below:
  • In the above Properties box, you can click on More button to view more details.

To view the embeded PDF font

Do one of the following:

  • Choose Options > PDF Font from the menu bar, and you should see a pop-up dialog box analogous to the following example:
  • All fonts embeded in the PDF document are listed here sorted by Name, Subtype, Encoding, BaseFont and Embedded. But only TrueType font can be further previewed and other subtype fonts are greyed

    When you highlight a kind of font, the Target field will at once displays all pages number which contain this kind of embeded font, and based on this target number you can easily find those fonts in the document.

    A kind of TrueType font may contain more than one character inside. If you want to view more about characters of a font, you can double click this font, or click the check-box before it, or highlight this font and click on Preview button. And then you should see a pop-up dialog box analogous to the following example:

    In this dialog box, you can click a character and imput a new letter to replace it.
