Finding and replacing words in a page


You can search for a specific word, or series of words in an active text page, and replace them using other word(s).

Note: At present, you can find word(s) from within a page, instead of a whole text file. In the future version, this searching function will be further completed.

To search for words in a page

  1. Select a page you want to search.
  2. Choose Edit > Find or Edit > Replace from the menu bar.
  3. Type the word, or words that you want to search.
  4. Select any of the following to assign to your search:
  • Match Whole Word Only: Finds text that is an entire work, and not part of a longer word.
  • Match Case: Finds text with the same combination of the uppercase and lowercase as the one you type in the Find What text box.
  • Up: Finds text upwards.
  • Down: Finds text downwards.
  1. Click Find Next. The result appear in the page with highlight.

To search and replace words in a page

  1. Select a page you want to search and replace.
  2. Choose Edit > Replace from the menu bar.
  3. Type the word, or words that you want to search and replace in the Find What text box.
  4. Select any of the following to assign to your search:
  • Match Whole Word Only: Finds text that is an entire work, and not part of a longer word.
  • Match Case: Finds text with the same combination of the uppercase and lowercase as the one you type in the Find What text box.
  1. Type the word, or words that you want to Replace with in the text box.
  2. Click Replace to replace the first occurrence, Replace All to replace all occurrences in conditions.
