The first ever version of Foxit Reader for Pocket PC is now released. For more information, please take a look at http://www.foxitsoftware.com/foxitreader/rd_ppc.php.

It has a footprint of about 1.4M (including a 14-face font package), supports almost same set of PDF features as Foxit Reader (desktop version) does, except the followings:

1) JBIG2 or JPEG2000 encoded images are not supported;
2) ICC color profiles are not supported.

It runs on Pocket PC 2003 or later. For a free evaluation version, please download from http://www.foxitsoftware.com/foxitreader/frppc.zip. To install, just unzip the package and transfer to the device. Please use "File Explorer" to launch the program.

Thanks a lot, I've been waiting for this piece of software for years!:1_11:
It is probably ungateful of me to start with a gripe, but some of it makes the program unsuable.
The first and the biggest is the absence of the support for tagged pdf. Without this reading any standard document is a nightmare. The idea of avoiding the need for horizontal scroll brought out the whole slew of software - Mobipocket, Haali Reader, Netfront, etc.
Second, the up and down keys should go to the next/previous page at the end/beginning of the page. The need to tap a button on a screen to move ahead makes it impossible to read with one hand.
I am sure these are only a temporary shortcomings of a pre-release version.
Othervise - great job! Much lighter and faster then the original software, thanks again.

Hi Jens,

Could you please run the Foxit Reader application itself, and then open the pdf file from within the applicaiton?

I now close this thread. Please report any bug to a new thread.

I encountered the same problems too.
I don't think they are so horrible
I'm sure that they will be fixed :) very soon
